With 16 types of coffee beans and exceptional dessert choices, you can already tell this will be the coffee experience of the week in Kaohsiung. Besides the 16 coffee bean options, there are also many espresso-based and non-coffee selections on the menu.
Artisan Cafe is located a 9-minute walk from the Central Park MRT. The cafe is also near the Talee Department Store, so you can stroll around the mall while you’re in the area—I certainly did!
If you’re reading this, you must be looking for more information on the cafe, and I’ve got you covered. While I didn’t take any pictures of the dessert, espresso-based, or non-coffee options, I did capture the 16 coffee bean selections, which you can check out below. Artisan Cafe also sells coffee beans, so you can buy some after trying a cup firsthand in their shop.

Basque Burnt Cheesecake and Caramel Pudding with Espresso
Caramel Pudding with Espresso
The caramel pudding is sweet but not overwhelming. Mix a bite of the caramel pudding with the espresso, and you get a balanced fusion of sweet and bitter. Add in some of the cream topping, and it’s a taste of heaven. You can’t see it from the pictures, but aside from the dried orange, there’s also a piece of caramel lace on top of the cream.
I don’t usually order pudding at cafes, but I did this time because of how good it looked on Google Reviews—and I swear that decision did not disappoint. I’ll definitely be back to eat this pudding again. It’s just that good, and I’m not even exaggerating.
Basque Burnt Cheesecake
This is the milkiest, cheesiest cheesecake I’ve ever had. It was the first time I’ve eaten cheesecake topped with candied zest, and again, the cream was incredible!
Cheesecake can be boring for some people. Personally, I can’t finish a whole piece before I start getting tired of it. But with the zest and cream toppings, there are multiple flavor combos to try, making this cheesecake fun to eat.

Uraga Red Honey
Uraga Red Honey is an Ethiopian coffee. Brewed using the pour-over method, this particular cup hints at an arrangement of floral and fruity notes, showcasing cherry blossom, citrus, pear, mango, and a senna black tea finish.
With the weather still sweltering and wet outside, I couldn’t resist ordering a nice cold drink. So this time, I ordered the iced pour-over.
The body is light to medium, with a smooth, velvety feel to the tongue. It coats the palate without being overwhelming. The taste itself is sweet and almost tea-like. Uraga Red Honey is perfect for an iced version because the acidity and sweetness make for a delicious and refreshing cup of cold coffee. And despite being chilled, the aroma still carries a light, fragrant intensity present in the warm version. This might be one of the best coffee in Kaohsiung I’ve tried so far.
I love how nicely this coffee pairs with the desserts. You know how some coffee and dessert combos just don’t work? Well, this one complemented the pudding and cheesecake I ordered perfectly!
It’s a good experience overall. The atmosphere and interior are super comfy. Good drinks, good desserts. If you’re looking for a cafe with many coffee bean options, definitely try out Artisan Cafe. I’d definitely be back to try out more from the menu.
